True Value, the national hardware distributor and McKeithen’s primary supplier, has entered bankruptcy court to restructure and potentially sell parts of its business. Despite this, McKeithen’s remains confident about their continued operation and service.
The Statesboro hardware store is quick to assure customers that their operations will not be significantly affected. In a social media post, McKeithen's expressed gratitude to their loyal customers, especially after the challenges posed by Hurricane Helene. The post emphasized that McKeithen’s has strong partnerships with three other major hardware and building supply vendors, making them less dependent on True Value for inventory. These additional suppliers ensure that their stock remains stable and that they can continue to provide the same reliable service.
“Our customers are our top priority, and while we are keeping a close eye on the situation, we want to reassure everyone that the 'Hardware Heroes' are here to serve you today and for the long haul," the statement read. The store’s focus on its community has always been a point of pride, and they highlighted their dedication to staying open and operational, even in difficult circumstances, such as during Hurricane Helene when they faced power outages.
