The fair hosted representatives from the Willow Hill Museum, Georgia Salzburger Society, Florida Historical Society, Atlanta History Center, Digital Library of Georgia, Washington Memorial Library, Georgia Public Library Services, Georgia Archives, and Athens Regional Library.

The Statesboro-Bulloch County Library held it second genealogy fair at the Georgia Southern Continuing and Professional Education Center on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9:00am until 4:00pm.

The event hosted presenters from the Willow Hill Museum, Georgia Salzburger Society, Florida Historical Society, Atlanta History Center, Digital Library of Georgia, Washington Memorial Library, Georgia Public Library Services, Georgia Archives, and Athens Regional Library.

The keynote speaker was Tina LaFreniere who is the founder and CEO of Related Faces. Her presentation entitled, "Don't Be Afraid of Technology" included tips for preserving vintage family photos and researching unnamed people in photo archives.

A robust vendor hall lined with representatives and tables full of information was bustling with conversation. The vendors had lots of goodies to gift to seminar participants.

The day concluded with a speech by Lillian Wingate, STRL employee and the organizer of the event, who was met with a standing ovation by a thankful audience.

"I think it was a big success, much more structured this year. We had much better prizes; we had more vendors this year. I think everyone has enjoyed themselves," Wingate says. "We hope this is an annual event."
