Tierra Caliente Authentic Mexican to open March 10

Tierra Caliente Authentic Mexican is set to open in Register, believed to be the town’s first Mexican Restaurant.

Located at 9020 Kennedy Bridge Rd, Register, GA 30452, the establishment will serve a variety of dishes, focusing on handmade tortillas and traditional recipes.

Tierra Caliente Authentic Mexican is a family-operated restaurant, and the owners say they take great care in the food they prepare, ensuring that every dish is made with attention to quality and authenticity.

They are prioritizing cleanliness and carefully maintaining their cooking environment to uphold high standards. The team has a background in the restaurant industry and agriculture, having worked in the area for decades.

With experience in farming and food preparation, they saw an opportunity to bring a new dining option to the community. The restaurant is housed in a building that has previously served as a convenience store and lunch counter, but it had been vacant for some time before this transformation.

A Building with History

The location has seen several uses over the years, including convenience stores and small food counters. After a fire left it in poor condition, the space remained unused until efforts were made to renovate it into a restaurant.

The new business represents a fresh start for the building and the local dining scene.

Menu Offerings, Beverages & Ordering Options

Everything is made in-house on the same day at Tierra Caliente to ensure freshness. The focus will be on fresh, handmade tortillas and dishes that emphasize traditional flavors.

The menu includes slow-cooked pork ribs in salsa, mole, and other selections not commonly found in nearby restaurants. A rotating selection of daily specialties will be available, catering to those looking for quick service and sit-down meals.

The restaurant offers dine-in and takeout options. Customers can call ahead to place orders for pickup, ensuring convenience for those on the go.

The restaurant will also offer a selection of beer and wine, including Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Rosé, along with bottled and draft options like Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Dos Equis, Modelo, and Corona.

Additionally, there are plans to expand beverage offerings by introducing liquor in the future, pending approval of local regulations.

Future Plans

In addition to food service, there are plans to seek changes to local ordinances that would expand beverage options. The town currently permits beer and wine sales, but efforts may be made to adjust regulations in the future.

Community Interest

Gaining interest from Bulloch County residents and surrounding counties as well, the new restaurant has drawn attention beyond Register, with people from surrounding areas expressing excitement about the addition.

The owners hope the business will provide a reliable and affordable dining option while contributing to the growth of the local economy.

With a focus on traditional food and fresh ingredients, the restaurant aims to offer something new to the area. The grand opening will give visitors a chance to experience the menu and atmosphere for the first time.
