Three injured in shooting at Statesboro apartment, two suspects in custody

A shooting in Statesboro around noon on March 6 left three people injured and two suspects in custody, according to SPD Chief Mike Broadhead. Police confirmed all parties involved have been accounted for, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

A shooting at the Southern Downs Apartment complex on Georgia Avenue in Statesboro left three individuals injured just after noon on Thursday, March 6, 2025. 

According to Statesboro Police Chief Mike Broadhead, the incident stemmed from an argument among five individuals inside an apartment, which escalated into gunfire. The confrontation then spilled into the parking lot.

The three shooting victims were transported for medical treatment, though their current conditions have not been released. Two individuals involved in the altercation, who were not shot, are now in custody with the Statesboro Police Department.

Chief Broadhead assured the public that there is no ongoing threat. “At this time, there is no indication that anyone else was involved. All parties are accounted for, and no suspect is at large,” he stated.

The investigation remains active, and SPD will provide further details as they become available.
