A devastating single-vehicle side-by-side crash on Saturday evening claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy and left a 27-year-old man with serious injuries.

At approximately 7:17 PM on Saturday, March 8, 2025, Bulloch County 911 received a call reporting a serious incident in the 900 block of Brannen Road, located behind Mill Creek Park just outside the city limits of Statesboro. Multiple agencies responded to the scene.

First responders arriving at the location found a side-by-side vehicle had rolled over, with two males suffering critical injuries. Bulloch County Paramedics requested Bulloch County Coroner Chuck Francis to the scene for the 14-year-old victim. They also requested Air Evac Medical Helicopter to transport the 27-year-old male to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah due to the severity of his injuries.

Initially, the helicopter was to land at Mill Creek Park. However, due to significant activity at the park, a decision was made to rendezvous with Bulloch EMS at the Statesboro-Bulloch County Airport for transport.

Coroner Francis confirmed the 14-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. His 27-year-old brother was airlifted to Savannah, and his current condition remains unknown.

Trooper First Class Keith McCarty of Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Post 45 requested the GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) to assist with the investigation, highlighting the seriousness of the incident. Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies and Statesboro Fire Department also responded to provide assistance.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are currently under investigation by the GSP SCRT.
