Statesboro police have made an arrest in the theft of two skid steer machines valued at over $100,000, thanks to tips from vigilant citizens and the hard work of investigators. The machines were stolen from a construction site on South Main Street in Statesboro earlier this month.
Surveillance images of the suspect and his vehicle were released to the public to generate leads, which proved successful. According to the Statesboro Police Department, Jamie Lynn Allen, 44, of Uvalda, Georgia, was identified as the suspect through a series of tips and subsequent detective work.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Allen was taken into custody by the Dublin Police Department on two counts of theft by taking motor vehicles. He has since been transported to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains as the investigation continues.
Police report that additional charges or arrests may follow as detectives continue their efforts to piece together the case.
