The Statesboro Jaycees "Career Clothes Closet" had its official Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. at the Statesboro Family YMCA.
The Career Clothes Closet is a resource for members in our community to feel and look their best when applying and interviewing for a new job. Donations will be accepted of gently worn men's and women’s professional clothing and accessories.
After being cleaned, the clothes will be organized at the closet. Anyone seeking employment who needs professional clothing for interviews or starting a new job will be able to schedule an appointment to shop the clothes closet for a complete outfit at no charge.
The Career Clothes Closet is the brainchild of Chris Gohagan, a partner at Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes, Marsh and Hodgin LLC, who was able to fulfill his Career Clothes Closet vision through a partnership with the Statesboro Jaycees.

"The idea of the Career Clothes Closet came from Chris Gohagan who had the initial idea of a having a Career Clothes Closet locally. He brought it up to the Statesboro Jaycees in a meeting requesting our planning, support, and project execution," said Matthew LaTulip, Statesboro Jaycees Treasurer and Project Chair for the Career Clothes Closet.
"We put together a plan for project execution and can finally look forward to seeing how this Career Clothes Closet will positively impact our community. It will be greatly helpful for those workers entering the workforce or for individuals re-entering the workforce after some time."
