History buffs and family tree enthusiasts are in for a treat as the Statesboro Regional Public Libraries and Georgia Southern University Libraries are teaming up to host a Genealogy Resource Fair on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The event, open to the public (adults only), will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm at the Georgia Southern University Russell Union, located at 85 Georgia Ave, Statesboro.
The fair promises a full day of presentations and information from a variety of genealogical and historical organizations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with these organizations directly during breaks in the Expo Hall, allowing for in-depth discussions about available resources.
The event is free, and participants will receive a comprehensive directory featuring information on dozens of participating organizations. Attendees will also enjoy swag from sponsors and a chance to win door prizes, though participants must be present to win.
The keynote speaker for the day will be Tami Mize of Conference Keeper, a well-known figure in the genealogy community. Mize is expected to share insights and tips to help attendees navigate their research.
Registration for the fair begins at 9:00am, with presentations starting at 9:30. Pre-registration is not required.
The collaboration between the Statesboro Regional Public Libraries and Georgia Southern University Libraries highlights the commitment of both institutions to fostering community engagement and providing access to valuable resources.
