UPDATED 4/18/23: Statesboro Police Officers and Detectives are investigating a homicide near Paulson stadium. Mike Broadhead, Chief of Statesboro Police has confirmed that a 19 year old male has died. SPD has identified the victim as Cameron Anderson.
At 7:54 pm on Monday, April 17, 2023 Statesboro Police and Bulloch EMS were dispatched to Cambridge at Southern - Pines, 122 Lanier Drive in Statesboro to a investigate shots fired at that location and discovered a male who had been shot. SPD officers rendered aid until Bulloch EMS arrived. Paramedics transported the male to EGRMC where he was pronounced dead.
SPD Detectives spent the remainder of the night processing the scene, which extended into the neighboring Cambridge the Palms, and interviewing witnesses.
At this point, they believe that many more witnesses exist within the heavily populated complex. It is critical at this point for these witnesses to come forward and assist in the investigation.

Second shooting in area
Six days ago SPD worked another shooting in the complex. They determined the victim was actually shot next door at Stadium Walk and fled to Cambridge for help. He was flown to Savannah for treatment.
