Shooting Incident Unfolds at Gas Pro Travel Center in Bulloch County, One Person in Critical Condition

Law enforcement in Bulloch County, Georgia, is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place at the Gas Pro Travel Center on US 301 South, leading to one person being critically injured.

Bulloch County law enforcement officials are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at the Gas Pro Travel Center located at 9999 US 301 South on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. The incident has resulted in one person being shot and transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

The unfolding events began a little before 3:00 pm when Bulloch County 911 issued a lookout for a vehicle involved in a hit an run on Hwy. 80 East near Po Jo's. Reports indicated that the vehicles traveled from Hwy. 80 East possibly to the Veterans Memorial Bypass and eventually onto US 301. Law enforcement officers intercepted the vehicles on US 301 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop.

During the confrontation at the Gas Pro Travel Center, gunfire was exchanged with Bulloch County Deputies, leading to one suspect sustaining gunshot wounds. Bulloch County EMS responded to the scene and transported the injured individual to the medical center for urgent medical care.  Bulloch County Sheriff Noel Brown confirmed that no deputies were injured.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Bulloch County Sheriff's Investigators are actively involved in the investigation to gather more details about the incident. Additionally, officers from multiple agencies have responded to the scene to provide assistance and support in the ongoing investigation.
