Join The Georgia Southern University Museum for their 3rd annual Shark Week, Sunday, July 7th through Friday July 12th (closed Monday). A week of summer fun is in store for shark lovers of all ages!
Dr. Brent W. Tharp, Director of the Georgia Southern Museum shares, “It’s an important week for us because sharks are a topic that really fascinate the public, and they are an important part of our collection. Sharks have been a key species in coastal plain ecosystems for the last 75 million years."
Tharp says, "Shark Week is an opportunity for all of us to better understand and appreciate these incredible animals. Shark Week will have a wide variety of activities that will appeal to young and old.”
Lashanda Hicks-Griffin, Assistant Director of the Georgia Southern University Museum says, "We look forward to providing some great shark-themed additions to the museum's current exhibits that will also be open to the public.
