Second Statesboro home damaged by fire Friday evening

Firefighters battling a serious house fire on Friday evening

A second home was heavily damaged by fire on Friday evening December 29, 2023.

Bulloch County 911 Operators dispatched Statesboro and Bulloch County Fire Departments at 6:28 pm to a single wide modular home fire located on Holloway Lane just outside of the City of Statesboro.  Statesboro Fire responds to fire calls within a five mile radius of Statesboro.

The first fire engine was on the scene within four minutes and found the home to be fully engulfed with fire.

Statesboro and Bulloch firefighters battled the blaze for almost an hour.  The home appeared to be a total loss.

Firefighters remained on the scene over two hours making sure the fire was completely extinguished.

There was no one at home when the fire started and no injuries reported from the fire.

Bulloch County EMS Paramedics evaluated a couple of people on the scene, but did not transport anyone to the hospital.

Statesboro Fire Department's CAFE unit assisted Red Cross DAT team members in providing temporary assistance to the occupants of the home.

Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies responded to assist as well.

Statesboro Fire Investigators will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
