Uptown Cheapskate will be located at 241 Tormenta Way. They expect to begin buying in October 2024, with a grand opening in January 2025.

Uptown Cheapskate, a leading resale clothing franchise, is excited to announce the opening of its newest location in Statesboro. The new store will be located at 241 Tormenta Way in the University Station Shopping Complex behind Publix and is projected to open its doors to the public for “open to buy” in October 2024.

Christina and Tim Grams, franchisee partners and owners, are both natives of Bulloch County. Christina is a graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and a Georgia Southern University alumni. She has worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for over 16 years, mostly in the Home Health setting, but felt pulled in a new direction this opportunity presented itself.

“We are thrilled to bring Uptown Cheapskate to Statesboro. God has opened many doors to make this dream and new adventure come true, ” said Christina Grams, Store Owner of UC Statesboro. “We have worked countless hours for over a year and can’t wait to welcome our new customers and provide them with a great shopping experience.”

Uptown Cheapskate is not your average thrift store. Customers are paid cash on the spot for their stylish, gently used apparel, handbags, and accessories, or they can choose to receive 25% more in store credit. Any items not purchased due to style or wear condition will be donated to a local charity on the customer's behalf, or the customer can take the items back with them.

“I feel like this concept is a win-win. Wearing used clothing helps the environment, and you get to wear stylish clothing for a fraction of the cost,” Grams added.

The new store will feature an extensive selection of name brand used clothing and accessories including LuLulemon, Adidas, American Eagle, Michael Kors, Coach, and many more.

Stay tuned for special announcements and dates for “open to buy.” The grand-opening to “buy and purchase” is projected for January 2025.
