Ogeechee OB/GYN bringing gynecology services to Optim Medical Center-Screven

The new clinic will offer a wide range of services with initial clinic dates of June 4th, 10th, 18th, 24th, and July 16th and 30th. Additional dates will be added soon.

Optim Medical Center-Screven (OMCS) is excited to announce the addition of gynecology services for the residents of Screven and surrounding counties, starting June 4, 2024. James Small, MD and the team from Ogeechee OB/GYN will be providing comprehensive gynecological care at 209 Mims Road, Suite C, Sylvania, GA 30467.

The new clinic will offer a wide range of services, including evaluation and treatment of pelvic pain, fibroids, and abnormal bleeding, endometrial ablation, urinary incontinence treatment, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, pap smears, colposcopy, genetic cancer screenings, and various birth control options.

The initial clinic schedule includes dates on June 4th, 10th, 18th, 24th, and July 16th and 30th, with additional dates to be added soon. To make an appointment, please call 912-871-6206.

Ogeechee OB/GYN

Dr. James Small is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist with a distinguished career in both military and civilian healthcare. He earned his M.D. from Emory University and completed his residency at the US Naval Hospital, Portsmouth. He has held various leadership roles, including OB Chief and Medical Director at multiple institutions.

Dr. Chelsea Mikell is a board-certified OB-GYN who graduated with honors from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her residency at Carolinas Medical Center and has been with Ogeechee OB/GYN since 2018. Her clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery and breastfeeding advocacy.

Dr. James Reed is a board-certified OB-GYN with a Doctor of Medicine from St. Matthews University School of Medicine and a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from East Tennessee State University. He has a diverse background with additional degrees in Chiropractic, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Biology. Dr. Reed has extensive experience in both military and civilian healthcare, including roles such as Medical Director at Advent Health System and Chief of Aerospace Medicine with the 165th Medical Group, USAF/Air National Guard.

Shannon Hall, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant with a Master's in Kinesiology and extensive experience in women’s healthcare. She joined Ogeechee OB/GYN after working in orthopedics and internal medicine.

Tressa Cheney, FNP-C, a Family Nurse Practitioner, holds degrees from Georgia Southern University. She has experience in labor and delivery and rural nursing outreach. Tressa has been with Ogeechee OB/GYN since 2008.

Nikiya Lewis, DNP, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a DNP from Georgia Southern University. She joined Ogeechee OB/GYN in 2011 and also works as an Assistant Professor of Nursing.

Jamie Bohler, FNP-C, a Family Nurse Practitioner, has a BSN from Georgia Southern University and a Master's from South University. She transitioned from ICU to labor and delivery before joining Ogeechee OB/GYN in 2022.
