I-16 eastbound traffic closed at Exit 132 due to an accident that sent 7 to trauma center in Savannah

Interstate 16 eastbound is closed in Bulloch County, GA at exit 132 on Friday, June 14, 2024 due to a multi car crash. Traffic is being detoured and motorist are encouraged to avoid the area for the remainder of the night.

Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies, GSP and GA DOT have closed Interstate 16 eastbound at Exit 132 on Friday, evening around 7:30pm June 14, 2024 due to a multi vehicle crash involving a school bus.  The interstate will be closed for several hours while GSP Troopers investigate the accident scene.  Please seek an alternate route Friday evening if you need to travel Interstate 16 to Savannah from Statesboro.

Bulloch County 911 dispatched law enforcement and EMS around 6:45pm to a multi vehicle crash that occurred around mile marker around mile marker 136 eastbound I-16.   The accident involved a school bus.  The school bus was not a Bulloch County school bus.

The first units on the scene requested multiple ambulances to the scene and medical helicopters.  Bulloch County Fire responded to help extract victims from the vehicles.

Byran County EMS transported two patients in two different ambulances to Memorial Medical in Savannah, Lifestar transported one patient and Bulloch EMS transported four patients in three ambulances to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah.

Georgia State Patrol Post 45 troopers are in charge of the investigation and have requested the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) to the scene.
