Tuesday, December 3rd, is National Day of Giving. As the holiday season begins and you start to consider gifts for your friends and loved ones, consider the Botanic Garden at Georgia Southern University.

Instead of giving people more “stuff”, consider an environmentally friendly experience with a gift membership. With a membership, patrons will receive advanced notice and discounts on events, free admission during normal operating hours, and access to Statesboro’s most beautiful botanical gem.

The Garden is alive with plants, purpose and a relevant presence to the mission of the university.

This is a special time and opportunity to be a part of our blossoming story. As a member, there is a lot to look forward to at the Garden in 2025.

Our two annual plant sales and Gather & Grow series will complement new events and new hours on Saturdays; the Garden will begin to be open on Saturdays beginning March 22.

The Garden has also launched a campaign for a much-needed climate-controlled Education and Event Center with a teaching kitchen. This new facility will provide more rental options throughout the year as well as more “hands-on” educational opportunities, both of which will help generate more revenue to maintain and enhance the visitor’s experience at the Garden.

Membership fees and donations help allow the Garden to continue to grow in new and experiential ways as we work to connect people to plants. Your support will help us to continue to expand our adult, family, and youth educational opportunities year-round along with striving to keep the Garden affordable, beautiful and welcoming all year.

What your membership fees help to support:

  • $1000 helps fund a part-time student worker for six weeks in keeping the Garden well maintained
  • $500 is equivalent to 100 elementary students visiting the Garden, inspiring them to become a future Georgia Southern University Eagle as well as becoming our next environmental stewards
  • $250 allows a Gather & Grow event to occur as part of our adult education series
  • $125 constructs 10’ of the pollinator garden to increase biodiversity of species
  • $75 beautifies 20’ with annual color welcoming you into each garden space
  • $50 provides a uniform to a student worker to be identified as a valued Garden-team member

Interested in becoming or gifting a membership? Please visit the Garden website. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 912-478-1149 and we’ll be glad to help.
