The annual Grillin’ for Healing fundraiser returns on Saturday, March 29, 2025, bringing together grill masters, live music, and community support for a meaningful cause. Benefiting The Hearts and Hands Clinic, the event aims to raise funds for local individuals and families facing medical hardships.

In addition to the delicious aroma of barbecue and live music provided by Dropkick Turbo, the family-friendly event will feature bounce houses, food trucks, and live music throughout the day.

Ten teams will be competing for the barbecue championship, and the winners will be announced around 6:30 p.m. Ten teams will go head-to-head in a battle for the championship, all vying to claim the title of the ultimate BBQ master.

Last year, the event raised $30,000, providing free medical care to Bulloch County residents who are medically uninsured and live at or below poverty level.

“The Hearts & Hands Clinic is about so much more than providing free care,” said Kara Holland, Executive Director of The Hearts & Hands Clinic. “It’s about restoring dignity, offering hope, and ensuring that every person, regardless of their circumstances, receives the care they deserve. Everyone who participates in this event helps us do that, and we are grateful.”

Kara said she is especially grateful for Matthew (PK) Huling, Bulloch County President of Citizens Bank of the South, and John Allen, local surgeon with East Georgia Regional Medical Center, who organize and host the annual competition.

Gates at 1788 Akins Pond Rd Statesboro open at 11:00am and music begins at 1:30pm on the 29th. School of Rock will play at 1:30pm, Jenni and the Bridget Burners at 3:30pm, and the evening will end with a high-energy set from Dropkick Turbo at 6 p.m.
