Often it is through an obituary a community member's final story is told. For many of us, it may be the first time we have heard their story and learned about their important contributions to our community.
During the height of COVID we noticed that many citizens' obituaries were not displayed in other local media outlets. Upon investigation we learned that family members were having to pay in excess of $100 to have an obituary displayed in local and area newspapers. Many simply could not afford to pay this additional fee.
We felt as a community we could and should do better.
With this in mind, Grice Connect made a commitment to ensure anyone born here, lives or lived here or who has a family connection to Bulloch County receives the honor they deserve of being memorialized through an obituary at NO COST TO THEM.

An obituary plays an important role in informing community members and friends when a friend or loved one has died. The obituary provides a sense of closure for many and is an important part of the grieving process. It is one more way we connect our community.

Obituaries are displayed free to all Bulloch County citizens no matter what funeral home is handling the service, thanks to the generous support of Hills Mortuary, Low Country Crematory & Burial, Merritt & Merritt Attorneys and Joiner Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory.
When you are making final arrangements make sure to ask your funeral home or company handling the arrangements to email your loved ones obituary to [email protected] for free publication.
