Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced the appointment and re-appointment of 66 Georgians to various state boards, authorities, and commissions.

This includes Paula Mooney, CPA, CFE, CGMA, of Statesboro, who was appointed to Georgia's State Board of Accountancy for a four-year term. Paula succeeds Charles Cole, whose term expired on June 30.

Mooney is a senior lecturer at Georgia Southern University and teaches accounting courses including Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Accounting Information Systems, and Introduction to Business.

“I know she will make the Eagle Nation proud. I can imagine Julian Deal is smiling that the state is keeping a strong Georgia Southern presence on the board,” stated Lowell Mooney, director, Parker College Office of Graduate Studies.

Mooney holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Georgia. She and her husband have three children and reside in Bulloch County.
