Georgia Southern "Operation Move-In" seeks community volunteers

The students are coming! Georgia Southern's "Operation Move-In" will take place on Friday, August 11th, and community volunteers are needed to assist with moving 4,000 students in on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and free meal for helping out.

Georgia Southern University will host Operation Move-in on Friday, August 11th for students who live on the Statesboro Campus or Armstrong Campus in Savannah. While certain groups are allowed to move in early, most students will move in on that day.

The event is a collaborative effort by faculty, staff, students, and community volunteers to welcome the Georgia Southern students back to campus.

Volunteers assist in getting students back into the residence halls by meeting and greeting families, answering questions, monitoring elevator traffic, unloading cars, and many other activities that go into moving about 4,000 students into the residence halls in just a few hours.

Volunteers will also receive a FREE T-SHIRT and FREE MEAL on campus for helping out.

Operation Move-In has taken place at Georgia Southern since 2008, with the exception of 2020 and 2021.
