- Georgia Southern and Texas State have met six previous times in a series that dates back to 2005 with the Eagles holding a 5-1 lead. After the Bobcats won the first meeting, a 50-23 victory at home in the 2005 I-AA Playoffs, the Eagles have won the last five contests since joining the Sun Belt in 2014.
