On April 5, 2025, the City of Statesboro and the One Boro Commission hosted the fourth annual Longest Table, bringing the community together once again for an evening of shared meals and meaningful conversation.

Held outside the Georgia Southern University City Campus in downtown Statesboro, the event welcomed residents from all backgrounds to engage in guided discussions around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Facilitators at each table helped spark thoughtful dialogue, encouraging attendees to reflect on their perspectives, listen deeply, and connect with people they may not have met otherwise. The evening was filled with powerful conversations, new connections, and a true sense of community.

Volunteers from the Statesboro Youth Council played a key role in making the event a success, graciously serving attendees and adding a spirit of youth-led service to the evening.

Food was generously donated by local restaurants, making the event free and accessible to all. More than just a shared meal, the Longest Table continues to be a platform for community-building and inclusion, reminding us of the importance of coming together across differences.

One Boro’s work goes far beyond this event. From helping pass the non-discrimination and equity ordinance in 2020 to developing initiatives focused on workforce opportunities for formerly incarcerated individuals, the commission remains committed to building a more equitable and connected Statesboro.
