Congratulations to our friends over at the Friends of the Library Bookstore on their new bookshelves!
The addition of new bookshelves was made possible by a donation from the Richmond Hill Library, which is part of the Statesboro Regional Library System. This week a volunteer crew from Willingway installed the shelving, which runs the full length of one wall. The new shelving will allow the FOL to add many more of their donated books.
The children's nook also received 4 new bookshelves that allows better viewing of the books.
The proceeds from the bookstore go directly to the Statesboro Regional Library to fund children and adult programs. The wide range of programs simply would not be possible without the Friends of the Library's support.
Over the years, contributions from the FOL have enabled the library to get new sliding doors, furniture for the teen loft, and more---basically they supply whatever the state budget doesn't cover.
Staffed by volunteers, the Friends of the Library bookstore relies on donations from the public and also includes excess from the Statesboro Regional Library. Volunteers work hard to sort, shelf, and display the books to make the bookstore a joy to visit. The bookstore carries a wide selection of books including fiction, non-fiction, and children's books as well as cookbooks, audiobooks, and more. We promise -- you will not leave empty-handed!
The bookstore accepts donations in good, clean condition during business hours. The store is located at 6 Proctor St., Statesboro (in the old Maxway shopping center, across the street from The Statesboro Herald, under the green awning).
Follow their Facebook page for regular updates.
Store Hours: Fridays and Saturdays from 9am-1pm
