Below is a letter submitted to Grice Connect from the founders and co-directors of Esther's Place, Lori Brent and Tanya Wright.

Dear Friends,

What if you had the power to change a woman’s life for the better? What if you could step outside of the story of your life and step directly into the story of a struggling woman to offer support, encouragement, and hope? Here is your opportunity to partner with Esther’s Place as we have launched our “Step into Her Story: Funding What Matters” fundraising campaign. Your financial partnership with Esther’s Place will allow us to be the hands and feet of Christ to women in our community.

With so much going on in the world, our country and our community, now more than ever, it is vital to look beyond ourselves and help those in need. Scripture gives us a mandate to help the poor, the suffering and the widows. We at Esther’s Place invite you to step into their story and fulfill our mission in this community.

Since Esther’s Place opened our doors in 2022, we have been able to step into the story of over 500 different women and their children. What does it look like? It looks like over 300 shopping sprees for women that had no clothes, over 500 loads of laundry, 150+ showers & haircuts, and multiple hygiene bags for women that had no other means of taking care of themselves. It looks like over 2,200 meals and counting prepared and countless bags of food to fill stomachs that would otherwise go hungry.

Esther’s Place services currently being offered to the women of our community at no cost:

  • Hygiene Center: Showers, haircuts, personal care items, laundry services, clothing
  • Live Meetings: Mornings with God, Bible study
  • Classes/Resources: Meals, personal budgeting, resume review
  • Support Groups: Widow to Widow, Statesboro Moms of Addicts

Every day, God gives us the opportunity to step into the story of those who may never see hope outside of Esther’s Place but the hard reality is we cannot meet their needs alone. We need your help. We need you to come alongside Esther’s Place to “Step into Her Story.” Without your financial support we cannot continue to do the work we have been called to do in this community. We rely solely on the generosity of individuals like you. With your help, we can reach even more women in need and make a lasting impact on our community.

By the end of 2024, “Step into Her Story: Funding What Matters” aims to raise $100,000 to keep our doors open as we invest in women by giving them the opportunity to thrive, not just survive. Since our founding, we have been committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where women can develop confidence in all areas of their lives—spiritual, financial, physical, mental, and social. Our programs are designed to equip women with the skills and resources they need to overcome life’s challenges and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Will you consider joining us as we strive to empower women in our community to live lives full of hope, purpose, and strength? Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in the lives of the women we serve. To make a donation, please visit our website at https://esthers-place.com or send a check to Esther’s Place, 206 E Grady St Statesboro GA 30458.

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our programs, please do not hesitate to contact us at (912) 225-6583 or [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration and support. Together, we can create a community where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

In Christ,
Lori Brent & Tanya Wright, Co-Directors of Esther’s Place
