EGSC Women’s Basketball receives GCAA Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year

The East Georgia State College basketball program received three of four recent awards given by the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Women's DI Basketball coaches. Theo Howard is Coach of the Year, D'Mya Griffin is Player of the Year, and Charlese "Tree" McClendon is Freshman of the Year.

The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Women's DI Basketball coaches recently selected the Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year for the 2023-2024 season. East Georgia State College is excited to have received three of the four awards!

This season the EGSC Women’s Basketball Team has dominated the GCAA. The team is undefeated in conference play and is ranked in the USA Top 25 for the second consecutive season. Having clinched first place in the conference, EGSC will host the GCAA Conference Tournament at home in Swainsboro. EGSC will play in the semifinals on Friday, March 15 at 6:00 pm and the championship game will be on Saturday, March 16 at 2:00 pm.
