The US 17/SR 404 Spur Bridge Major Maintenance Project includes replacing the existing cables across the main span along with bridge bearings and bridge joints as part of planned maintenance for the cable-stayed bridge. The project will also explore shortening the cables to reprofile the existing bridge to obtain a higher vertical clearance to improve ship navigation within the channel.
