The Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce is welcoming community members to a ribbon cutting for Christian Social Ministries' newest location, 2429 Northside Drive West in Statesboro, Georgia, next to the Walker Pharmacy store on Northside. The ribbon cutting will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 12pm.

The store had a soft opening in January and already has an abundance of loyal customers and a boutique look and feel, "with thrift store prices," notes Becky Blackwell, the store manager. She selects items for the store from their donation center and pays special attention to what her customers are looking for.

The store carries clothing, accessories, household goods, decor, and toys. Blackwell says it's a place for everyone to come and shop; the prices are low and the items are great quality.

Christian Social Ministries' thrift stores help support their numerous ministries in the community, which include utility assistance, bi-monthly and emergency food giveaways, shoes for area children through a partnership with Bulloch County Schools, and more. The ministry also provides disaster relief and was heavily involved in bringing resources to those in need in Bulloch County and beyond last year.

The store has a boutique feel and a beautiful selection, which is restocked twice every week.

"I just love being a part of blessing other people," Blackwell explains, as she shares an example of a customer who was thrilled to find a much-needed blood pressure cuff at the store for $6, far less than retail price.

The Northside Drive store is closed on Mondays and Thursdays for re-stocking, which helps Blackwell ensure that they always have quality finds for their customers. The store is open from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

John Long, Christian Social Ministries' Director, would like to add Christian bookstore supplies and materials into the store later this year, diversifying its offerings and filling a local void.

For those wishing to donate items to Christian Social Ministries, donations are accepted at their 122 E. Parrish Street location, and they accept clothing, furniture, household goods, toys, and more.
