On Thursday afternoon, November 2, 2023 a car drove into the Statesboro Domino's pizza restaurant located at 1550 Chandler Road.
Bulloch County 911 at 3:03 PM dispatched Statesboro Police Department, Statesboro Fire Department, Bulloch County EMS and Georgia Southern PD to reports of a car in the Domino's restaurant.
The first officer's on the scene reported that a car entered the front of the building, then backed out of the building into the parking lot.
According to Statesboro Police Chief Mike Broadhead, a senior adult was driving the car and attempting to park in front of the restaurant. She hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. The car accelerated and jumped the curb and smashed through the front doors and glass storefront.
The driver of the car and no one inside the restaurant was injured.
SPD is in charge of the accident investigation.
Domino's continues to operate for delivery only, until repairs can be made to the building.
