The Candler Strong fund was established to support those impacted by disasters in Candler County, including the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, which was closely followed by this past weekend's devastating commercial fires in downtown Metter.
Although firefighters worked tirelessly to stop the spread of the fire, four businesses were a total loss, including Aly's Restaurant, The Flower Basket, Labor Michoacáno, and Riley + Co Hair Salon.
The Candler Strong fund is now accepting donations for both hurricane relief and fire relief for these businesses. Please indicate in your donation comments whether you would like for your money to go one of these needs specifically. If no request is made, the Candler Strong committee will use its discretion and apply the funding where it is needed most.
