A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday, December 31st, claiming the life of a Bulloch County farmer. According to Richard Pylant, Bulloch County Deputy Coroner, Chris Thompson, 48, succumbed to injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident on his property near Burkhalter Road off GA Hwy 24.
Emergency responders from the Bulloch County EMS, Fire, Sheriff's Department and GSP were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:36 p.m. Mr. Thompson was reportedly riding a dirt bike on a trail when the incident occurred.
Despite receiving immediate medical attention at the scene and during transport to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Mr. Thompson tragically passed away at the hospital.
GSP Post 45 Troopers are handling the accident investigation.
Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home will be handling funeral arrangements for Mr. Thompson.
