Bulloch County native Anna Clifton has been named a recipient of a Georgia Foundation for Agriculture (GFA) Scholarship.

Clifton is one of eight students statewide selected to receive a $2,000 GFA Rising Junior/Senior Scholarship.

The GFA scholarships recognize deserving and outstanding college students pursuing agriculture or ag-related degrees at a college in the University System of Georgia, Berry College or Emmanuel College, or a school in the Technical College System of Georgia.

“Georgia Farm Bureau is proud to support the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture’s programs,” said GFA Board Chairman and GFB President Tom McCall. “The foundation offers these scholarships as an investment in the future of Georgia farming, and we’re excited to see what these students can do as they move into their agricultural careers.”

Clifton, the daughter of Brant and Angie Clifton of Statesboro, is a student at the University of Georgia, where she is pursuing dual bachelor’s degrees in agribusiness and agricultural/applied economics.

Anna, who graduated from Southeast Bulloch High School in 2022, serves as a UGA College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences (CAES) ambassador, is a member of the CAES Student Philanthropy Council and the UGA Young Farmers & Ranchers.

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture scholarships recognize deserving and outstanding students pursuing an agriculture or ag-related degree at an eligible technical college (such as welding, diesel mechanics, vet tech) or college in the University System of Georgia, Berry College or Emmanuel College. Instructions for applying for the 2025 GFA scholarships will be announced at www.gafoundationag.org/scholarships in January 2025.
