Bomb threat at Briggs and Stratton under investigation

The Statesboro Fire Department notified the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office of a bomb threat at the Briggs & Stratton building. Officials say that everyone has been safely evacuated, and they will be conducting an investigation throughout the day.

UPDATE: "The facility was thoroughly searched by multiple agencies and highly trained bomb sniffing K-9s. The facility is safe and no threats were found. The investigation will be ongoing. Sheriff Brown sends a special thanks to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office K-9s, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office K-9s, and the Georgia Southern PD K-9 for their assistance today," Bulloch County Sheriff's Office.

The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office has confirmed responding to a bomb threat at Briggs and Stratton over on 7251 Zell Miller Pkwy, reported via the Statesboro Fire Department.

The call came in around 11:30 am on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Deputies acted swiftly, and confirmed everyone had a safe evacuation from the building.

Authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation throughout the afternoon.
