Behavioral Pediatrics of Rural Georgia has found a new home at 912 East Jones Avenue, conveniently located on the Statesboro Family YMCA campus. This move is a significant milestone for the practice, marking its commitment to addressing the growing demand for its services across the region.
"When I started the practice, I had no idea how great the need for our services was," Dr. Michelle Zeanah shared. "We see children from at least 80 counties. Some families have been seeking an autism evaluation for five years or more."
The practice is known for its comprehensive approach to diagnosing and managing various conditions, including autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and tic disorders. Their team goes beyond traditional evaluations by offering behavioral intervention training for parents, skill-building support for children, referrals to therapies like speech and occupational therapy, case management, and, when appropriate, medication management.
The new location provides the space and resources needed to grow their impact. It will allow the addition of another physician, a physician assistant, and an expanded support staff to ensure efficiency. An exciting feature of the new facility is a large indoor playroom, which will be used during autism assessments, enhancing their ability to observe and evaluate children in a natural and engaging environment.

Beyond diagnostic and management services, the practice has broadened its offerings to include counseling and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. "I added services like counseling and ABA therapy because my patients needed these services too," Zeanah explained.
In alignment with this commitment, renovations have already begun to expand the ABA clinic. Once complete, the clinic plans to add at least two more full-time Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and over a dozen Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to its staff. This expansion is expected to significantly reduce wait times and allow the practice to support even more children.
A recent Open House event offered the community an opportunity to explore its new location and learn more about the services they provide. Held from 4:30pm to 6:00pm on Monday, March 10, 2025, the event featured guided tours of the facility. Attendees were able to meet the dedicated team, gain insights into the practice’s comprehensive approach to pediatric care, and discover how they support children with autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and more.
Guests were treated to light refreshments as they mingled and gathered information about the clinic's diverse services, such as counseling, ABA therapy, and behavioral intervention training for parents.
The Open House created a welcoming atmosphere for families, professionals, and community members to connect with the practice and celebrate its commitment to meeting the unique needs of children across the region. It was a memorable evening that highlighted both the impact and growth of Behavioral Pediatrics of Rural Georgia.
Behavioral Pediatrics of Rural Georgia's growth reflects its dedication to meeting the diverse and complex needs of the community. The new location is a beacon of hope for families in the region, offering expanded services and shorter wait times to ensure every child can access the care they deserve.
