Rising Bulloch Academy ninth grader Bryce Parrish was accepted into the US Naval Academy (USNA) Summer STEM Program in Annapolis for this summer. There were more than 5,000 applicants for the program, and just 330 students per grade level were accepted.

The program is a catalyst for a future in science and engineering. Summer STEM lets students create, build, and explore science, technology, engineering, and math subjects in world-class lab facilities, with the unforgettable opportunity to work alongside the USNA’s distinguished faculty and midshipmen, as well as other students from across the country.

The criteria for acceptance consideration included:

  • Evidence of strong accomplishments inside and outside of the classroom
  • Strong academic performance
  • Strong PSAT, SAT or ACT scores (where applicable)
  • A strong interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math

Bryce departed today, June 3, to attend Session I for Freshmen, which will take place all week in Annapolis. He will also return on June 21 to participate in the Navy Prospect Football Camp at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.

According to his mom, Amelia Simmons-Kendzierski, "Bryce loves his country, his county, and his school. His future goal is to seek acceptance into USNA and become an officer in the military."
