On behalf of the Averitt Center Board of Directors and the entire Averitt Center Staff, The Averitt Center for the Arts is happy to announce the naming of its Main Gallery located at 33 East Main Street as the Rosengart Art Gallery.

This name was previously held by the art gallery located at 41 West Main Street.

Helen Rosengart is a lifetime lover and supporter of all things related to the arts; Helen volunteered selflessly for the Averitt Center for the Arts for many years, beginning her service as one of Roxie Remley’s first Main Gallery Volunteer Attendants.

As a lover of theater, Helen has directed several musicals in the Emma Kelly Theater, giving opportunities to many community members to perform and showcase their craft to the people of Bulloch County and the surrounding areas. For many of the younger performers, this opportunity kick started their love for the theater.

In addition to directing, Helen also single-handedly organized many of the Averitt Center's dinner theater experiences, including planning the menu, selling reservations, and hosting each event herself.

The art gallery located at 41 West Main Street, currently being curated by the Statesboro Regional Art Association, showcasing the talents of their members as told through a wide spectrum of artistic mediums and styles, will now be referred to as the West Main Gallery.

Helen’s sons Robert and Russell are responsible for naming the Averitt Center Main Gallery the Rosengart Art Gallery in honor of their mother’s love and continued support for her community.
