The inaugural Statesboro Festival of the Arts will showcase 40 diverse artists from across the region on March 22 and 23 at the Visit Statesboro campus. The festival promises to be a celebration of creativity, offering a wide range of unique artwork for attendees to explore, purchase, and enjoy.

Artists of various mediums, including painting, woodworking, pottery, jewelry, and more, will have booths to display their work for attendees to enjoy. Artist vendors will be judged by Erin Dunn, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Telfair Museums in Savannah, Georgia.

“Dunn will judge each artist on originality, artistic quality, technical mastery, and overall presentation. The six awards include the Merit Award, Georgia Power Merit Award, Best in 2- Dimensional, Best in 3-Dimensional, Best in Show, and the People’s Choice Award,” said Kim Riner, visual arts director at the Averitt Center for the Arts. “Visitors can participate in choosing their favorite artist for the People’s Choice Award.”

Attendees can also enjoy a rich line-up of live performances, various food trucks, and more along with the one-of-a-kind artwork at the festival. This vibrant festival allows art lovers and anyone interested in the fun to experience Statesboro’s art scene in an exciting new way, while supporting artists across the region.

The mission of the Statesboro Festival of the Arts is to cultivate a vibrant inclusive arts community that allows various audiences to explore and celebrate artistic diversity together, creating a community that values and supports Statesboro‘s evolution as a hub for the arts.

The Statesboro Festival of the Arts is put on by the Averitt Center for the Arts, City of Statesboro, Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, Georgia Southern College of Education and Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art, Statesboro Chamber of Commerce, Statesboro Regional Arts Association, and Visit Statesboro, GA.
