America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia today announced it received a $100,000 grant from Truist Foundation to support its capital campaign to feed the future of Coastal Georgia. America’s Second Harvest is so appreciative of the tremendous support from Truist Foundation as it begins to transition into new facilities that will allow it to serve even more neighbors in need.
Truist Foundation has been a long-time supporter of America’s Second Harvest. With one in seven people facing hunger, this grant will significantly help programs that operate to help fight food insecurity in 21 counties of Coastal Georgia. As Mary Jane Crouch, executive director of America’s Second Harvest stated, “We are all dealing with the diminished food supply, rising food costs, inflation, and elevated housing costs. The increase in the cost of these everyday necessities of food, fuel, and housing along with the holidays has made it even more difficult for the average person to just survive.”
“Our support for America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia will help remove barriers and ensure that those in need will receive nutritious meals,” said Ryan Martin, market president for Truist. “Our partnership with Second Harvest brings to life Truist’s purpose to inspire better lives and communities, and we’re proud to support their efforts in addressing food insecurity throughout Coastal Georgia.”
