The Georgia Southern University Performing Arts Center (PAC) will continue their 2024-2025 Main Stage Season next month with their first concert of the spring, Americana Women on Tuesday, March 18 at 7:30pm.
Americana Women is a group of four multi-instrumentalists and powerhouse vocalists from New York City. Distinguished by their tight harmonies, sizzling solos, and passion for bringing more female artists to the spotlight, this dynamic group is sure to have the whole family toe-tapping, clapping, and singing along to the Queens of Country and Folk Music!
The group features songs from artists such as Joan Baez, Dolly Parton, Patsy Montana, Lucinda Williams, Brandi Carlile, and The Chicks, plus original music.
When selecting productions for the PAC’s 2024-2025 Main Stage Series, keeping a country music group in the season’s lineup was important for PAC’s Director, Daniel Brown.
“Country music is a staple here in Southeast Georgia. Being raised in Alabama myself, I personally love country music, especially the country music queens. I mean, who doesn’t love Dolly Parton?”
In addition to bringing a country music group in, Brown wanted to highlight something else alluring about this group: “I think this show will interest audiences of all ages, but something special and unique about this band specifically is the fact that they are all talented instrumentalists. My hope is that this appeals to the abundance of musical artists we have in the community, too.”
Americana Women celebrates American folk music from its earliest origins through the current country, rock, and folk music scenes. Whether you’re looking for a perfect date night or a musical outing for the family, American Women at the PAC is sure to check all of the boxes!
