This past Wednesday, I had the chance to attend the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair for the very first time, and it was an experience I won’t soon forget. While I’m not much of a rides person, the fair had plenty to offer in terms of food, games, and community spirit.
Fair food is always a major highlight, and the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair certainly didn’t disappoint. I indulged in some of my local favorites, including the delicious offerings from Miso Hungry. Their food truck is already a beloved staple in the area, and they delivered once again at the fair. Another standout was Smokin Co’s, where I enjoyed a mouth-watering turkey wing. To top off my culinary adventure, I couldn’t resist trying a red velvet funnel cake, which was the perfect sweet treat to end the day.
It was refreshing to see not only traditional fair food but also a strong presence from local vendors, showcasing the area’s diverse food scene. With so many food options available, I realized I would need to attend multiple days to try everything the fair had to offer!
One of the unexpected highlights of my trip was finding a new stuffed friend—Stitch—from the Stuffed Animal Booth. It was the perfect keepsake to bring home from a day filled with fun and excitement.
Beyond the food, what really stood out was the incredible sense of community. Everywhere I looked, people were supporting local businesses, enjoying themselves, and celebrating the hard work that went into organizing the event. It was clear that the fair is more than just fun and games—it’s a vital part of bringing the community together.
A special thanks to Grice Connect for providing me with a ticket, allowing me to share this rewarding experience with others. With so much to offer, the Kiwanis Ogeechee Fair has certainly earned a spot on my calendar for next year.
