Statesboro is packed with tons of local events this Fall season. Grice Connect's Brandon Robinson attended several events this past Friday night and gives GC readers a glimpse into some community events happening on Fall Fridays in Statesboro.

There is so much to do in Statesboro this Fall Season! From fundraisers to just plain fun, every weekend is packed.

Listed below are a few events from this past Friday night to give you a small glimpse into the community events taking place in our area this autumn! Each promotes a sense of community and offers an atmosphere of connection among local residents.

Autumn Bash

Autumn Bash Attendees participate in group partner dancing. Autumn Bash was held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at The Market at Visit Statesboro.

Lisa Horton and Michael McCurdy put on their dancing shoes for one of the most important fundraising events of the year. Dancing With the Statesboro Stars is an annual event benefiting Safe Haven which helps women, men, and children who have been affected by domestic abuse.

Autumn Bash, sponsored by The DripBAR, featured dining, dancing, door prizes, and more.

Monthly "Fix-It Fridays"

October's Fix-it Friday took place on October 6, 2023, alongside the "Ag Night Out" First Friday event. Locals come to Fix-it Fridays for small repairs on small appliances, furniture, and feature fixes for free repairs. 

Georgia Southern's Fab Lab and the City of Statesboro's Greener Boro Commission have teamed up to host monthly "Fix-It Fridays" as part of an ongoing campaign to reduce waste and encourage innovation within Bulloch County.

The monthly event invites locals to bring their small appliances, furniture, and feature fixes for free repairs.

YMCA SPOOKTACULAR Outdoor Movie Nights

The Statesboro Family YMCA hosts outdoor movie nights every Friday night in October.

The Statesboro Family YMCA is hosting outdoor movie nights every Friday night in October. The SPOOKTACULAR movie series includes Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and Nightmare Before Christmas. Tickets are $5, and the Y has a SPOOKTACULAR line-up of movies planned.

Gates opens at 6pm for families to grab their spots and participate in pre-movie activities such as Halloween crafts and games. Concessions will be available with an “All you can Eat” ticket for $7 a person, or $25 for family of four. Concessions include popcorn, drinks, hot dogs, and candy.

The October movie series is a fundraiser for the Y’s A Place to Dream Program. Read more HERE
