7th Mile Farm to host summer camp; Volunteers needed to change lives

Fostering Bulloch's 7th Mile Farm is seeking out volunteers to come be a part of this life-changing camp experience for some of Georgia's most vulnerable children.

Fostering Bulloch’s 7th Mile Farm will host its 2023 "Camp7" Royal Family Kids Camp for children in the Foster Care System this summer. The camp will serve countless children in foster care from residential homes, centers, and organizations from across the state of Georgia.

The Fostering Bulloch team is currently seeking out adult volunteers to donate their time and effort towards bringing success to this life-changing camp for Georgia’s children.

Are you looking to dip your toes into the world of foster care? (Whether that be towards becoming a future foster parent or having a career in the foster care system?) Then this camp would be the perfect opportunity for you to gain experience in forming long-lasting connections with Georgia’s most vulnerable children.

Fostering Bulloch’s Founder, Chris Yaughn, says:

“Our heartbeat here at Fostering Bulloch is our three summer camps for our Foster Care Children. Volunteering at one of our summer camps is one of the best ways an individual can 'open the portal' to seeing whether foster care is a good fit for them. We heavily rely on our teacher/college student population for our summertime volunteers. However, we encourage anyone who is interested to apply for participation. We are very intentional regarding promoting positive relationships between our campers and volunteers. Therefore, we encourage individuals with a big heart for helping others to be a part of this life-changing summer camp experience.”

Camp7 is currently seeking out responsible adults who are willing to spend 4 days and 3 nights (including overnight stay) on-site with the campers.

According to the Camp7 flyer, “Campers and volunteers will spend 4 days sharing the love of Jesus, and making lifelong memories, with our youth in foster care.”

Some of the planned activities for campgoers and volunteers are kayaking, fishing, rock climbing, paintball competitions, and so much more! There is no cost to foster parents or volunteers to attend the camp. Furthermore, all money donated to the camp will go towards meals, camper's gear, clothing, bibles, etc.

Camp7 for Boys will be held from 6/30-7/3.

Camp7 for Girls will be held 7/7-7/10.

Camp7 for Royal Family 7/14-7/17.

Fostering Bulloch is an umbrella organization whose mission is to share the love of Christ with children and families in crisis situations. The organization's resources go towards supporting the family unit and promoting positive change for the future.

Their subsidiary organization, the Hope Chest, serves as an emergency-need resource center for all foster care children and others in need. The Hope Chest serves fire families, homeless shelters, battered women’s shelters, families struggling to make ends meet, and countless other humanitarian organizations. They supply these groups with clothing, toiletries, housewares, bedding, and other necessities.

Amplify Hope is a warehousing unit located on the farm that serves as a ministry resource to various organizations. It is located onsite at the 7th Mile Farm, which gives those organizations the ability to say "yes" to large scale donations of material products. This barn space supports groups who otherwise would not have been able to accept commercial size quantities of resource needs.
