Georgia Southern head football coach Clay Helton announced Monday the signing of Wrightsville's David Josiah of Team Impact as an honorary member of the Eagle football team this season.
Team Impact matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience. Josiah has spina bifida and it is his dream to be part of a team. He has been adopted as a member of the football team and will participate in a variety of events throughout the year.
Josiah, 5, was officially introduced to the team in August and held a special signing ceremony on Monday following Helton's weekly press conference. Josiah then met the media as part of his signing day.
Josiah and the Eagles (1-0) host UAB Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at GSEagles.com/tickets.
