4th annual Career Workforce Summit is March 19

Bulloch County’s Workforce Development Committee is hosting its 4th Annual Career Workforce Summit on March 19 at Ogeechee Technical College, uniting educators, business leaders, and officials to celebrate current achievements and chart the future of career education and workforce development in the region.

Bulloch County’s Workforce Development Committee will host its 4th Annual Career Workforce Summit on March 19, from 7:30 - 9 a.m., at Ogeechee Technical College’s Jack Hill Building Oak Room.
 
The event brings together K-12 and post-secondary educators and area business and industry partners plus elected officials to showcase the successes in Bulloch County's college and career programs for youth in grades 6-12, share workforce development plans for the future, and further strengthen partnerships to benefit students and the community.

"This event is your opportunity to gain exclusive insights into workforce development, industry achievements, and the future of career education in Bulloch County," said Bethany Gilliam, Bulloch County Schools' Career Technical & Agricultural Education director, who also coordinates the Workforce Development Committee. "We've emailed invitations to our business leaders, educators, and key stakeholders to come and connect at these events and continue to shape our region’s workforce."

The school district has invited more than 400 existing partners, but any business leaders who are interested in learning more and getting involved in preparing students for successful careers and building an educated, skilled, and efficient workforce for economic growth in Bulloch County are welcome to attend. Come enjoy conversation and a complimentary breakfast from 7:30 - 8 a.m., followed by the main program from 8 - 9 a.m. that features the following:
  • Christy Rikard – Welcome remarks from the vice-president for Student Affairs at Ogeechee Technical College
  • Kristen Rogers & Renee Rogers – Bulloch County Schools' work-based learning coordinators share the successes of the school district's Career Technical Student Organizations 
  • Bethany Gilliam – Recognition of the school district's career pathways that have received Industry Certification
  • Rachel Barnwell –  the Development Authority of Bulloch County's vice president will share highlights of its industry wins 
  • Bethany Gilliam - Unveiling of the 2026-2030 Career Workforce Development Plan
  • Charles Wilson – Closing insights from the Superintendent of Bulloch County Schools
