Hurricane Helene won't stop the fishing rodeo! The Bulloch Bass Club and Bulloch County Recreation and Parks are still inviting the community to the 2024 Gary Oglesby Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo at the Mill Creek Regional Park pond on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 8-11am.
Registration begins at 7am, followed by fishing fun at 8am, and finally, lunch and drawings at 11am.
The tournament is FREE for all children ages 5-15 years. An adult must accompany all children, and all children must provide their own fishing equipment and bait.
FREE hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided to each child that enters the fishing tournament.
Highlights of the tournament will include:
- Tagged Fish: $50.00 will be awarded to any young fisherman that catches this year’s tagged fish, and $10.00 will be given to any young fisherman catching previous year’s tagged fish.
- Tournament Weigh-in: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies and rod/reel combos will be presented.
- Prize Drawing for Bicycles
Every child who participates in the tournament will leave with a prize! The Gary Oglesby Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo is made possible thanks to generous community sponsors.
