Ginny Hendley, Statesboro native, business and community leader, launched her campaign for Statesboro City Council District 3 on Friday, August 18, 2023. Hendley will challenge one term City Council Member Venus Mack for the District 3 seat. Mack has confirmed with Grice Connect that she will be seeking re-election for a second term.
Qualifying begins on Monday, August 21 for City Council Districts 2,3 and 5 and continues through Friday, August 25th for a November 7th election.
"I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of encouragement and support for me to run for City Council. From college students, business and property owners like myself, to senior adults, the citizens of District 3 have sent a strong message that they want me to run," said Ginny Hendley. "I am humbled by this enthusiastic early support and pledge to every citizen in the district that I am committed to invest the time and resources to bring new ideas to our council. To do this, I will begin today by asking for your prayers, vote and continued support."
