Splash in the Boro Waterpark plans to reopen on May 22 so everyone can have more fun in 2021!
The waterpark, which was unable to open in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic prepares to host guests “as usual” in 2021.
While park staff will be diligent in sanitizing the park, marking social distanced spots in ticket, attraction and concessions lines, the waterpark will not require patrons to wear masks.
“We will encourage the mask-wearing of each guest on the pool decks,” says Eddie Canon, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We will also ask that patrons social distance themselves the best they can to protect themselves and others.”
He also states that maximum capacity of the park will also be reduced this year to aid guests in keeping their distance from others. Typically, the capacity of the park is 3,500 guests at one time. In 2021, we will reduce that number to 1,750 and once capacity is reached, allow one guest in as one guest leaves the park.
According to the CDC, “there is no evidence that the virus that causes Covid-19 can be spread to people through water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds.” It’s spread by close contact, which is why social distancing is encouraged. The waterpark asks that parents and guardians explain the importance of social distancing to their children so they can aid in keeping themselves safe.
The waterpark will open May 22 from 10 am until 8 pm and May 23 from Noon until 6 pm. The park is then closed May 24 through May 28 for private rentals and then will reopen on May 29 and will remain open seven days a week through August 1. Operating hours from May through August 1 are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10 am – 6 pm; Thursdays and Saturdays 10 am – 8 pm; and Sundays Noon – 6 pm.
Beginning August 2, the park will be closed on the weekdays but will be open on Saturdays from 10 am – 6 pm and Sundays from Noon – 6 pm.
