The Georgia Southern APEX program will sponsor an Atlanta Career Networking Tour for student-athletes on April 27-29, 2023. APEX (Athletes Preparing for Employment eXperiences) is an organization committed to the holistic growth of all Georgia Southern Student-Athletes based on four pillars: life skills, leadership development, career growth and community engagement.

"We are very excited about the APEX program and the impact that it will have on our student-athletes' lives by providing them with valuable skills necessary to succeed in life after athletics," Senior Associate Athletics Director Gleen Hart said when the program was founded. "It is the mission of the program to create leaders in the classroom, on the fields, and in life by providing programming to help enhance their student athlete experience and professional development."

The group will travel to Atlanta for a two-night stay, attend an Atlanta Braves' baseball game, participate in three networking tours, partake in a networking dinner, and visit the Georgia Aquarium. It's the second year APEX is sponsoring a trip to Atlanta and the third Career Networking Tour the program has organized.

To qualify for the trip, student-athletes must be in good academic standing with the University, complete an online application and essay, and obtain two letters of recommendation (e.g. coach, academic advisor, professional). The application deadline is March 10.
