Since March 7th, 2009 I have lived here in Statesboro. For most of my life, I lived in active addiction, this is how I ended up in Statesboro. I came to Willingway to get sober in December 2008. This was not my first TX. Within 24 hours of being discharged, I was using again. I continued to use drugs and alcohol until God intervened. I had two choices to continue killing myself with drugs, or by suicide, or I could give the 12-step recovery program a chance. At this point in my life, I had nothing to lose by letting other recovering addicts show me the way to Freedom. Today I am so grateful for my recovery and my life. Opening up my counseling practice has been my dream for years, even before getting sober. One day I hope to open a structured recovery house too. I know if I can stay sober that this dream shall also come true. Today my life is magical. I finished college with a 3.82 GPA at Georgia Southern University studying Criminal Justice, I have acquired several Certifications to be a counselor, and I got married in May 2022 to my best friend. Life is truly grand. I did not choose this, it has been given to me by God. Never lose hope and give this way of life a chance. Today we can " Lift each other", and remember you are never alone on this journey to sober living...
