Waffle House closing South Main location for renovations

Statesboro's first Waffle House to open will be closed for a couple of months while the company renovates the restaurant. Regulars will have to visit one of the other two locations during the renovations.

Waffle House located at 446 South Main is closing temporarily for renovations.  The restaurant will close on Monday, May 1, 2023 for approximately two months while the company renovates the restaurant according to a Waffle House representative.

They told Grice Connect that employees of this Waffle House will be allowed to work in other locations during the renovations or they can take the time off.  Once the renovations are complete at this location they will temporarily close the 476 Northside Drive location for a couple of months and completely renovate that one as well.

Waffle House entered the Statesboro market in 1993 simultaneously building two restaurants, one on South Main and one on Northside Drive East.  The South Main location opend a couple of weeks before the Northside Drive location.  These two restaurants are now 30 years old.

In October of 2018, Waffle House opened their third restaurant at 30 Eddie Rushing Drive off the Veterans Memorial Parkway.

Based on the volume of messages by loyal Grice Connect fans who are also Waffle House fans there is a good bit of concern about the closing of this popular restaurant.  Even with three in town, everyone has their favorite for a variety of reasons.

After a few weeks of having your routine upset, everything will be back to normal with a "new" Waffle House experience.
