College Plaza shopping center sold, renovations planned

The College Plaza Shopping Center in Statesboro has been sold to a new owner and is slated for significant renovations. The 9.64-acre, 100,000 square foot retail hub, a fixture at the intersection of Zetterower Avenue and Fair Road since 1965, was purchased by Randolph Property Group of Evans, GA.

The College Plaza Shopping Center, a long-standing retail hub at the intersection of Zetterower Avenue and Fair Road, has a new owner and is set to undergo a significant facelift.

The 9.64-acre, 100,000 square foot center, originally built in 1965, was sold on January 27, 2025, to Randolph Property Group of Evans, GA for $8,674,438.

The sale marks a new chapter for the well-known shopping destination, located at 520 Fair Road in Statesboro, GA, which serves as a central retail location for surrounding communities. Current tenants include Ollie’s, Dollar Tree, 180 Fitness, and El Rinconcito restaurant, among a mix of national, regional, and local retailers.

Randolph Property Group has wasted no time beginning improvements to include new exterior and security lighting. More planned upgrades include a complete renovation of the facade, a newly striped parking lot, new soffits, vertical accent lighting, and updated monument signage. These improvements are expected to enhance the shopping experience and attract new businesses to the center.

Statesboro Realtor Wayne Groover represented the seller in the transaction, while Jordan Kim, Traver Vliem, and Patel Prashant with Blokk Commercial Real Estate and Meybohm Commercial represented the buyer.

Blokk Commercial Real Estate is also managing the property and currently has an 8,000 square foot retail space available for rent. The new ownership’s investment in College Plaza signals a renewed commitment to the center and its role in the Statesboro retail landscape.
